RACF HAFA

Founded in 1945, the Hamilton Air Force Association has been a home for airmen, veterans and their families for eight decades. Its Dundas home on King Street East has stood since 1960, marked by the aircraft on its wall and the Canadian flag above the roofline.

Out front stands the association’s landmark: a Canadair CT-133 Silver Star jet trainer, flown in from CFB Borden by Chinook helicopter and mounted on its pedestal. In 2017, for Canada’s 150th, dozens of volunteers, restoration experts and local sponsors brought the aircraft back to its former glory.

The association continues to honour the memory of those who served in the Canadian Armed Forces — many of whom paid the supreme sacrifice — and to recognise those serving today. Their courage, dedication and commitment will never be forgotten.
